Getting started
What is a digital business card?
It's your professional profile as a live web page — your contact details, links, socials, booking pages and more. Share it with a tap, a QR scan or a link, and it's always up to date, unlike paper.
Do people need an app to view my card?
No. Your card opens instantly in any browser — no app, no signup. Anyone you meet can save your details straight to their phone.
How do I share my card?
Tap your NFC card on a phone, show your QR code, send your unique link over WhatsApp or email, AirDrop it, or add it to Apple/Google Wallet so it's always one tap away.
The digital business card
How many profiles can I create?
Up to 3 on Pro — for example one personal, one business, and one for an event — and 1 editable profile on the Free plan. You can customise the look and feel of each. If you make three during your Pro month and then move to Free, all three stay viewable and shareable; you just edit the main one until you upgrade again.
What happens when I update my details?
Everyone who saved your card automatically sees your latest information. Change jobs or numbers — your connections never go stale, and you never reprint anything.
Can I match my card to my brand?
Yes. Colours, photos, backgrounds, logos, link tiles and layout are all customisable in seconds from your Tappd dashboard.
NFC & QR hardware
Do I need hardware to use the digital business card?
No. The digital business card works entirely on its own — shared via link or QR — on the Free plan or on Pro.
Can I use an NFC/QR product without a subscription?
Yes. Tapping and scanning always open your card, on Free or Pro. Pro adds extra profiles, lead management, analytics and wallet passes — and buying a product includes 12 months of it.
What materials do the cards come in?
PVC, bamboo, wood and stainless steel — plus NFC stands and tap points for counters and events. All custom-branded with your logo and design.
Billing
How much does Tappd cost?
Tappd Pro is R70/month, and you can cancel any time. Every account starts free, with a month of Pro to try and no payment details needed. NFC/QR products are a once-off purchase that includes 12 months of Pro.
What happens when my free trial ends?
You drop to the Free plan — one editable profile that still taps, scans and shares. Any profiles you created during the trial stay live and shareable, they just become view-only. Lead capture, analytics and wallet updates pause until you upgrade. Nothing is deleted, and any NFC/QR products keep working. We'll remind you before it ends.
What exactly stops working if I don't renew?
Tapping or scanning still opens every profile you have made, and they all stay viewable and shareable. You keep editing your main profile; profiles 2 and 3 become view-only, and lead capture, analytics and wallet updates pause. Renewing unlocks it all again, exactly as you left it.
