Frequently asked questions
Do I need an app to use Tappd?
No app is required. Our software is browser based and works on both Android and iOS.
What is NFC and does my phone support it?
What is NFC?
NFC, or Near Field Communication, is a technology that allows devices to communicate with each other when they are close together. It's commonly used for contactless payments, data transfer, and now, with Tappd's digital business cards, for sharing your profile instantly with just a tap.
Does My Phone Support NFC?
iPhone Users:
- NFC is enabled by default on newer iPhones.
- The NFC reader is located at the top of the phone.
- To use, tap and hold your card over the front-facing camera.
- A notification will pop up. Click the notification, and your profile will appear in the browser.
Android Users:
- For most Android devices, NFC needs to be enabled manually.
- Swipe down on the control settings, in the search bar type "NFC" and turn the NFC toggle on.
- Once enabled, tap and hold your card on either the back or front top section of the phone.
If Your Device Doesn't Support NFC:
- In the rare case that a mobile device does not support NFC, you can still share your profile using the QR code on the back of the card.
- Simply use the camera to scan the QR code, and it will direct them to your profile.
Will my Tappd card work abroad?
Yes.
